Moorcroft – Luxury Pottery Advent Calendar

Moorcroft is a world-renowned British pottery brand known for its hand-crafted ceramics, rich colourwork, and distinctive artistic style. To create a premium festive product, Moorcroft commissioned a bespoke advent calendar that would feel as considered and collectible as the pottery itself.

Rather than offering a novelty item, the brief was to design and manufacture a large luxury calendar that housed genuine Moorcroft ceramics — transforming the traditional advent format into a display-worthy product that customers would treasure and reuse.

Design, Structure & Internal Engineering

The interior of the calendar was precision-engineered to balance protection and presentation. Internal dividers were added to maintain alignment and prevent movement, while the 12 internal drawers were made in varying sizes to accommodate different pottery shapes.

Each drawer was manufactured from 290gsm White Peak FBB and printed CMYK with an anti-scuff matt laminated finish to match the outer case. This ensured visual consistency throughout while providing durability for daily use.

The internal base structure mirrored the main case specification, using 3mm greyboard for strength, with a printed wrap and anti-scuff coating to ensure the calendar retained its premium appearance throughout the festive period and beyond.

The result was a highly considered packaging solution: one that protects fragile contents, enhances the unboxing experience, and positions the calendar not as disposable packaging — but as a display-worthy object.
